Receipt of Foreign Missions and Representations

One of the key DCIN functions is the opening and maintenance of proper communication channels with foreign entities of interest for Finep. Welcoming overseas missions and representations gives rise to a rapprochement with potential partners, making it possible to promote the Company, its operations and proposals, as well as to obtain direct information on cooperation opportunities.

From 2011 to 2016, DCIN welcomed over 200 overseas missions and representations.

Holding Seminars and Meetings

DCIN mobilizes partner institutions and specialists to encourage discussions on the international scenario in support of S, T&I, considering instruments, methodologies and priority themes. Hence, it contributes to monitoring key trends regarding the subject and to training Finep employees in discussions.

Some examples are:

  • Training Program for Technology Development Negotiators, held from October 19 to 30, 2015, from 9 AM to 6 PM in the Finep auditorium at Praia do Flamengo 200, within the scope of the UNDP Project.

The course was intended to train 28 professionals in managing and negotiating technological development cooperative agreements, with stress on aspects in connection with Intellectual Property protection and management. The idea was to contribute in establishing successful corporate partnerships in developing new technologies, arising from joint projects by companies, R&D units and domestic and international universities.

It was organized by international consultant Cynthia Cannady, manager of IP Seva (Intellectual Property for Sustainable Energy) and with vast international training experience in the field of technology transfers and licensing, and author of the book Technology Licensing and Development, which served to base the program.

  • Cooperation opportunities in Science, Technology and Innovation between the Netherlands and Brazil, held on June 21, 2016, from 10 AM to 1 PM in the Finep auditorium at Avenida República do Chile, within the scope of the Finep-RVO Agreement.

The encounter was intended to disclose international cooperation opportunities in Science, Technology and Innovation between both countries and in European Union programs.  On that occasion Willemien Van Asselt, international Consultant on Innovation in the European Union, spoke of the opportunities provided by European Union programs to an audience of Brazilian business persons.

  • Finep/CDTI Encounter, held on October 1, 2015, in the Finep auditorium at Praia do Flamengo 200, from 9 AM to 1 PM.

The event consisted of disclosing success cases by Brazilian and Spanish companies interested in exchanging experiences and seeking partnerships in order to boost innovation in their goods, within the scope of the Agreement undersigned between Finep and CDTI, aimed at leveraging competitiveness by both nations at a global level.
